VINCENTIAN FAMILY - PHILIPPINES: CLOSING CELEBRATION OF THE 400TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE VINCENTIAN CHARISM

Vincentian Family – Philippines: Closing Celebration of the 400th Anniversary of the Vincentian Charism

The year-long celebration of the 400th Anniversary of the Vincentian Charism was formally opened last January 25, 2017, feast of the Conversion of St. Paul and the foundation anniversary of the Congregation of the Mission. The Vincentian Priests and Brothers hosted the event at St. Vincent Seminary Complex in Quezon City where they have their Provincial House, two formation houses, a theological school and the Santuario de San Vicente de Paul.

The “Vincentian Charism Jamboree” was also held last September 9, 2017 at Concordia College in the city of Manila, a school of the Daughters of Charity. The concurrent sessions with the topics #IamVincent, #IamVincentian, and #Vincentian4ever were among the activities that the different branches of the Vincentian Family attended.

In October, some members of the different branches joined the worldwide Vincentian Family in Rome for the Vincentian Family Symposium.

To formally close the 400th anniversary celebration, the Vincentian Family in the Philippines, came together again on the 384th foundation anniversary of the Daughters of Charity last November 29, 2017 with the theme “The Vincentian Charism @ 400 Years and Beyond: Sink Deep, Take Root, Branch Out... for the Peripheries”. The Province of St. Louise de Marillac – Asia hosted the event at their Provincial House in Parañaque City. Present were the members of the Ladies of Charity (AIC), Congregation of the Mission with Adamson University and Vincentian Missionaries Social Development Foundation, Inc., Daughters of Charity, Sister Handmaids of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Sisters of Charity of Our Lady Mother of Mercy, Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary, Brothers of Charity, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul of Suwon, Sisters of Providence, Congregation of Brothers of Our Lady Mother of Mercy, Vincentian Marian Youth, Association of the Miraculous Medal, Sons of Charity, Young Ladies Association of Charity, St. Vincent de Paul Foundation, Vincentian Family Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Alumni of the Congregation of the Mission, and Alumnae/Alumni of the Daughters of Charity.
