Dear Confreres,

May the grace of God be with us always!

The damage wrought by storm Yolanda particularly in Leyte continues to hug the news. But quick response on our part did not materialize, hampered by the breakdown of key communication facilities.

Government and international efforts were similarly affected. There was no way of checking on individuals or families through the cell-phone. This situation continues. Because of this the Vincentian Family-Philippines is unable to map out its relief work.
What can we do in the meantime?

1. First submit to the fact that no less than a massive government relief operation is needed. This is because relief delivery needs to be secured from possible mob attacks caused by wide desperation from hunger. Individuals are advised against bringing goods that might cause people to forcibly grab them in desperation.

2. Kindly collect donations for eventual relief and rehabilitation work. Direct donors to the following Calamity Fund bank accounts:

METROBANK DOLLAR ACCOUNT (TANDANG SORA BRANCH)
ST. VINCENT SEMINARY
326-2-32600292-0
Swift Code: MBTCPHMM
BDO PESO ACCOUNT (SCOUT ALBANO-QUEZON AVENUE BRANCH)

ST. VINCENT SEMINARY INC.
001320191264

Like most other groups, we are waiting for the restoration of communication facilities that will help us better map out what specific course of action to take. In the meantime let us pray hard that what is doable by government may be properly delivered as we await the opportune time to participate in long term help and rehabilitation. Kindly welcome all offers for help.

In St. Vincent de Paul,
